It feels so good to be back in this space! It has been so long (6 months to be exact). I took a bit of a forced hiatus thanks to a hacking issue on my blog and welcoming baby #3 into our family. I was hoping the hacking issue would be a quick fix, but it wasn’t. I honestly contemplated shutting the whole thing down because it seemed way over my technical savviness to fix. Every time I would find the energy to start problem solving another roadblock appeared and I was getting discouraged. I have 3 kids, work part-time, and have been sleep deprived the last six months, how could I ever find a few minutes to blog?
I was sitting in my BSF (bible study fellowship) lecture last week and was given the boost I needed to persevere. The enemy was whispering, “you can’t”, “you don’t have time”, “it’s too much”…. and I was listening! You know when things get hard and it’s easy to think that this is a sign to just quit? The enemy, he is sneaky! He hacks into our lives where we have vulnerabilities and causes trouble. So it is with renewed energy that I am excited to be back and share a refreshed website.
So what’s been happening in my world the last 6 months? Let me start by introducing you to our newest addition. Meet Owen:
Isn’t he just the sweetest? Oh, how he instantly stole our hearts (just as his two big brothers did before him). If you remember from my pregnancy announcement, I decided to leave the gender of baby #3 a surprise (we found out for both big brothers) so this was a fun twist for the third time around. Speaking of big brothers… Big brother Jackson and Big middle brother Gage:
They are just smitten with their new baby. Jackson is so loving and attentive with baby Owen. He is constantly asking to hold him, kiss him, feed him. He wants to be apart of everything. Gage goes with the flow and follows Jackson’s lead. He will kiss baby Owen and push him in his swing, but we are still working on gentle touches. Owen was born just a few days before Jackson’s birthday and I have loved comparing pictures of the two in the same outfits. At one month old they definitely look like brothers! Can you tell who is who?
We had a very cold Halloween, Jackson and Gage were frozen chickens (ha ha ha). Followed by a wonderful Christmas season, and a fun Valentines Day. Each holiday becomes more magical as we celebrate with our boys. To see things through the eyes of a child, they have such innocent perspectives, such excitement, and so much energy!
How has life changed with 3 boys? The transition from two to three kids was easier than one to two. With two kids I was already used to multi-tasking, adding another into the mix didn’t feel like triple the work. Sure their are crazy or hectic moments (like trying to get out of the house), but overall it has felt manageable. It’s amazing the increase of comments I get while running errands or grocery shopping with all three children. “All three are boys??” Yes, all three are boys, I get asked this almost daily. Our home is busy, our bathrooms often smell like pee (I’ve been told this wont change until they all grow up and move out!) and their are always crumbs on my floor, but my heart feels so full! Sometimes exhausted, but mostly full.
