waiting to meet you

Ready to meet you by www.masonjarsandfireflies.com

I was looking back on my blog to see when the last time I shared a baby bump picture and update. It was at 20 weeks! Which was almost 20 weeks ago!! Baby #3 could be arriving any day now and I am getting excited to meet this little one! Looking back, this pregnancy has flown by! It has also been a tiring one with more aches and pains than I’ve experienced before. I’m trying to savor the sweet moments and appreciate the blessing of being able to experience pregnancy.

How I’m Feeling: Big! Baby is definitely running out of room, but they haven’t gotten the memo! At night, this little one loves to try to stretch arms and legs, but there is nowhere to go! Starting around week 26 varicose veins required me to wear compression socks anytime I was standing. My poor ankles look like they’ve been ran over… black, blue, puffy.

Around 30 weeks I started experiencing intense heartburn. I have tried every flavor and variety of Tums (the chewy fruity ones are my favorite! They pretty much taste like Starburst candy). Just thinking about drinking a cup of coffee gives me heartburn.

If you’ve been following my blog for a while you might remember the scare my sweet little G gave us around 32 weeks. I was a little anxious with this pregnancy, worried it could happen again, but thankfully this babe seems content staying put. (Maybe too content).

The last week has been a tease! I will have hours of Braxton Hicks contractions every few minutes, alerting the hubby that it might be time, only to have them fizzle out.

What I’m craving: Chocolate in any form I can get it. Cereal at 2am. Frozen yogurt. Salads with Ranch dressing.

J & G: J is getting excited for baby to arrive! Mostly because if baby arrives before Grandma fly’s in he gets to go stay with a friend. After the last false alarm, I heard about his disappointment for days about not getting to go play at his friend’s house.  G’s radar is on full alert regarding his upcoming change in status. He is so clingy to me and wants to be held all the time. We were at Lowes last night picking out a light fixture for our basement bathroom (more on that project later). I had G on my shoulders walking around. A sweet older lady smiles at me, points to my belly and then point at G, “baby and baby!” I can’t carry him very long. He is a well-built little tank of a boy!

If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if I’ve had any inklings on the gender of this baby I could redo another bathroom in my house! I have no inklings… in fact, I really haven’t much thought about it… I’ve been too busy balancing a part-time career, being a full-time mom, weeks of home renovations, and trying to keep up with the laundry that reproduces in my hamper overnight. I have an overwhelming since of peace about this new baby. I know God will give us the little one that is just right for our family, be it another boy or girl.

We are ready to meet you sweet babe! Please come soon! XOXO – Your Momma, Daddy, and Big Brothers!
