Gosh it feels good to get the blog back up and running! I am still working on replacing posts from the last year as well as information on my pages. I wanted to take a break working on the old stuff to share sweet baby “G’s” 3 month update! He is actually 4 months (with 5 just right around the corner), but with all the blog coding drama, I didn’t have a chance to post about his 3 months, when he was actually 3 months…. So here we go!
All about “G”:
-He coo’s and giggles when we talk to him
-He has a “whole body smile.” When he is really happy, he gives a big smile and brings his hands up to his face with a little shake.
-He love to watch big brother “J” and will give him smiles.
-He teases me with a 7 or 8 hour stretch of sleep one night and then back to waking at 1am, 3am, 6am the next (*sigh*).
-He recently discovered his hands and they are almost always in his mouth now.
-He rolls over from tummy to back
Mommy learning’s and realizations:
I am a task master, a multi tasker, a checklist checker. I love getting stuff done because it makes me feel like I accomplished something each day, but my drive to put a check on my to-do list can be a problem in my life. Thankfully, God has an amazing way of using my kids to challenge me to be a better person….a more Christ like mom.
The other day I let my desire to clean-up the messy playroom takeover and I lost my patience with “J”. I snapped at him for climbing on me while I was on the floor picking up. I knew I was wrong and I felt horrible. I went over to pick him up, sat him on my lap and told him that Mommy was sorry for snapping and asked him if he would forgive me.
There are days where I intentionally include “J” in my tasks and feel that it is incredibly valuable for him to learn alongside me. We do laundry together; unload the dishwasher and various other household chores that need to be done, he loves spending that time helping. Sometimes though, I have to put aside the “task” of life to just sit and play and enjoy the moment. This is tough for me, but J is a good teacher and I still have lot’s to learn.
